German Army rations - circa 1943

Post by Richard w. » Tue Jul 31, 2007 6:38 am

I found a great book over the weekend that shows the uniforms and equipment of German soldiers during WWII. These are modern photos of men wearing period uniforms.

There's one section that shows what a runner carrying chow up to the line looked like. It must have been a real adventure, jumping from shell hole to shell hole with a mermite strapped to your back.

The book is slightly oversized, so I couldn't scan the whole pages, but I recommend the book to everybody. Amazon.com is selling it for about $25, shipped. The last picture shows the cover.

Hello Housil-

Yes, the book is amazing. My scans don't do justice to the beautiful pictures. It was originally published in French, and was out of print for years.

Here's the link to the page on Amazon.com. There are two ISBN numbers in the listing for some reason:

ISBN-10: 2915239355
ISBN-13: 978-2915239355
