Howdy my name is Moubee I life in the remotes of New Mexico (Magdalena) and spend alot of time eating rations in the desert while looking for minerals. One issue I always have is hydration. What is ya'll take on the best good commercial non thirst proving ration and best beverage mix?
And do any of these things have a cup worth a darn?
Thank ya,

Re: hydrating beverage
Well... I guess a good option would be trying isostar powder or any sports drink powder/tablets, those are commercially available
Maybe tweak a bit the concentration, making it lighter will surely make it less thirst provoking if it was in the beginning

I have Spanish rations permanently, feel free to ask

Re: hydrating beverage
Might be BS, but i have heard that gatorade and alike are designed to cause some level of thirst, so you drink more of it. Electrolyte is basically a fancy word for salt isnt it?
Re: hydrating beverage
Gatorade is isotonic, so it holds 0,9% of "salt" what is the same as your body. "Salt" (NaCl) is an electrolyte, but so are e.g. sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, magnesium, phosphate.ViperGTS wrote: Sat Dec 08, 2018 9:35 pm Might be BS, but i have heard that gatorade and alike are designed to cause some level of thirst, so you drink more of it. Isotonic liquids do not cause thirst, hypertonic do.

Thank you for the response. I'll give a Gatorade powder a go. Last time I took a gallon of Dr Pepper, me thinking its just salt and sugar right? I don't know if it was the caffeine or the sun but I ended up needing the lady to IV me. And the portability accessibility was a mess.
