MRE 2020 Insp/Test date Case A 1-12 menu
s-l1600.jpg
That was the title of the case of MRE's I bought off ebay from a seller with 100% positive feedback. Along with - "New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging"
I was super excited to get a hold of a fresh 2017 case of menu A MRE's. Today it arrived in the mail. I brought it in the house and hmm...the TTI looks off. Didn't look bad on the auction page I thought.
What's this? I noticed that the box seemed to have been opened as the box glue was undone. I carefully took off the outer cover and took a few pictures of what I saw... Take a look at these photos and tell me what you think is wrong here...

You should of seen the look of surprise, immediately followed by anger that followed when I saw those 22+ year old dark brown MRE's.
Well good news is I got a full refund back from the seller and he didn't want me to return these...surprise, surprise. Now what to do with all these old MRE's?
Maybe Steve1989 is interested lol.

If I were you, I would grab a camera, open the MREs up, take pictures and post some reviews to the Reviews section of the forum. If you're not interested in doing that, you may want to look at selling them or giving them to someone, like Steve1989. I'm sure he'd be willing to take you up on the offer. No matter what you do, please don't throw them away. ;)

Wow, some vintage menus there. “Ham slice” and “Pork chop”. Love to see a list of what you got and the old brown ones too.

This can turn into an opportunity for some GREAT reviews for sure...I'm sure several other members are interested also, but I'll take em if you decide not to keep em

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely won't be throwing them away! I'm going to try and figure out (without opening them) what date range they should be from. I'm thinking early 90's for the two dark brown one's and then late 90's, early 2000's for the rest. I will probably try to sell them. However I have no idea what a reasonable price would be. I'll post back here more details about each MRE when I find out more!

The back of your case has a 6-97 (I think it was 6-97 if my memory serves) - I saw that case on Ebay. Knew it was a 1997 and thought it was going to skyrocket for that reason. Wish I'd had the foresight of buying them like they are 2017s and then getting a refund. Not bad!

Your brown baggers are 1988-1992. Your 10 tan ones are 1997. They are worth about $5-8 each. Review worthy, indeed.

The pork chop and chow mein are your top interests. Followed by the tan beef frankfurters. A tan pack of 4 fingers of death is a neat novelty. The rest are somewhat expendable. A transitional year for the MRE though - very cool acquisition for the amount of $ you have into them.
