Beef stew with limas instead of potatoes

I recall,in the early to mid 80's, eating a beef stew that replaced potatoes with lima beans. Am I crazy? Can an old hand help me out?

well, there was some thing called ham and limas, more commonly refered to as 'Ham and motherF@#$%rs'. Course, that was c-rats. I seriously believe there is a can of those behind every bush in vietnam, right where it was thrown...
