Hoping some of the British members might be able to shed some light on the good ol' biscuits, brown that come in the British 24 hr ration.
Are these or anything comparable available commercially? I cant seem to find quite the like here in the States. Even deep google searches failed to yield a solid lead...
Thanks,
J.

I have yet to find a comparable item for sale.... However, these are available in other ration packs like the Dutch ROEK and the regular Dutch ration packs too, also I see them pop up on eBay UK quite often!

Yes, they are 'brownish'. They come in the green pack. I'm still trying to figure out what 'biscuits, digestive' are. Am I suppossed to digest them, or, they, me, like the Aliens.

I haven't found any direct commercial equivalent of these.
We can however buy the 'real thing' separately, from some online Surplus/Camping/Expedition suppliers.
The ones I found were about £1.50 per pack, plus postage.
Or from ebay, now and again.
Just out of interest, and to try and find something similar,
this is the ingredient list for them off one of the websites...
Ingredients
Oatmeal, Salt, Raising Agent: E503ii, Invert Sugar Syrup, Wheat Bran, Sustainable Palm Oil (Antioxidants; E320, E330, E310),
Sugar, Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin)
Yes, cavguy is correct.
They also come in many of the dutch rations as well.
You either get them in their normal UK green foil packaging..
or in their brown coloured Dutch packaging, called Bruine Biscuit
I have a sweet tooth, so I am a much bigger fan of the cousin
of Biscuits Brown, the Biscuits Fruit.

Taste wise they are very similar to Wheat Thins, only thinner and smaller squares.

Here is the closest thing I have found Stateside after scouring the cracker isles of my local grocery stores. These are wheat based instead of oat but otherwise similar. These do taste a bit sweeter that the biscuits, brown.
McVitie's Digestive Wheat Biscuits

A little late on this, but the Belvita golden oat breakfast biscuits are the closest American equivalent to the European style biscuits and satisfy the craving I get without having to break into a ration. The various fruit Bevita varieties (cranberry orange, blueberry) are a real close match for the European fruit biscuits as well.

Only 0.75 EUR per pack.
Shipping to the US isn't cheap though, you'd have to get some other stuff to make it worth ordering.

To me they taste somewhere between wheat thins and a graham cracker. Sweeter than a wheat thin, but less than a graham cracker. I love biscuits brown!
