Sweet and sour pork MCW

Post by NuWorldMann »

What year was this MCW last produced and, in general, how rare/in demand is it? What else comes with this meal? It has that digital/generic print out of the menu. Thanks!

Well, this is kind of a tough question to answer;

1. I believe this menu was one of the "hold overs" from the original LRP program, so it was produced in the older brown bag LRP's as well as the newer tan bag LRP's and MCW's. However, IIRC this one is no longer on the menu... Though I have no source for this, I think it was around 2011/2012 when they switched menu's for the newer production MCW/LRP's (have done 2 times since then too I think). So presumably, 2012 might have been the last year of production but again I could be wrong on this.

2. In general I would say its not "desirable," but might be tough to find. I mean I have not heard of too many folks are wanting a Sweet and sour pork MCW!

3. Menu 3 lists. Sweet & Sour Pork w/Rice, MRE Crackers, MRE Peanut Butter, Soup, Noodle, Ramen, Instant, Cocoa Beverage Powder, MCW: Accessory Pack D, Spoon.

4. I have had this one before and it is nothing special and it's pretty darn sweet IIRC.

Yep, I google-foo'd it and that's the menu and contents I found..I thought there was a bran cereal bar in it tho :/ or something for dessert other than crackers and pb. Sweet and sour pork sounds tasty as a freeze dried entree, just wonder how it tastes in execution!

It tasted ok, the sauce was very sweet and you have to be very careful not to add too much water or you'll be swimming in the sauce... Overall nothing impressive! I wouldn't pay extra for one for sure.
