well, looks like this forum is sleeping in the last days, so i´m goin to tell you some news from germany::

my friend bought an old house together with his girlfriend.... and guess what they found in some dark corner in the basement????

They found some couple of boxes with old winebottles, full of dirt, a complete mess... so he was goin to trash it all, when i came around to help him something and noticed the old bottles.... WWWOOOOOOWWWW!!!

i started cleaning all the bottles and opend one, and there were small cristals from the wine, witch is a very good sign for excellent wine....
and then tasted it, perfect stuff.....

so i became proud owner of 6 bottles 1979 whitewine, ok only three left now... but he will need my help soon for workin in the house, so i´m sure i will get the chance to get more of this great stuff....

HAVE FUN !!!

Waouw, that's a nice find!

It certainly tastes better than the French army wine in plastic pouch

The oldest wine I've found was a German bottle of kosher Mosel wine dated around 1900. It was buried in the sand, just under the surface of a cave used as a shelter in 1916 or 1917. First, I though it was a 7.5cm shell!
Well, it was still good :P

hahaha, just thought about what great idea it would be:
shoot with wine bottles instead of 7.5cm shells....

everybody goes YEAH!!!

btw... i was lookin for some information about the winecrystals.... now i know more...
it happens only when the grapes had enough time to take up alot of calcium from the ground and get enough sunlight to build big amount of wineacid...
only a good combination of both in the wine lets the crystals grow...

That is scary. I would not have drunken it. Better go to the doctor and have an exam on your body. Not all wine is meant to age. The bottle you have is a cheap bottle of basic German wine, similiar to Blue Nun. Those wines are meant to be drunk as soon as they come from the winery. Big misconception among the public is that wine and liquor gets better with age...it does not! Certain wines like reds, from world reknowned winersy like Rothchilds, etc are made to age for decades, not the one you are showing. Also, in regard to liquor. Liquor ages in barrels and NOT in the bottles as many people are under the impression that a bottle of Jim Beam for instance from 1964 will taste better because it has aged. That is false and utterly ridiculous, the aging ends once it comes out of the barrel.

Sorry to disappoint you olli, but it was better to inform you that to see you go on drinking wine not really fit for human consumption.
