French MRE

Post by UCMRE »

I am going to purchase some french (FCIR I belive they are called) mre from France.

The seller is quoting me 300 euro or around 335 usd.

Is this a reasonable price for 14 mre expirey date jan 2019 and shipping combined to canada?

Thanks for your time and have an awesome day. Cheers.

It doesn't seem to out of this world but my .02 is that I would have him ship 2-3 and see how long it takes to get here the larger shipments or bigger packages have a tendency for customs to snoop around in.

That's some good advice from kwiklot. I'd hate to see that many rations come in one box and get refused by customs. It might cost you a little more in shipping to break it up into 2 or 3 shipments, but at least you might get something.

The others are right about customs and shipment.

€21.50 per rations is an "OK" price if they are French rations (RCIR) make sure you don´t get just the French "TOTMs".

yes Eistee that was the price including shipping. he has it broken down where you buy 12 and its costs 180 euro to ship so around 10$ per unit. they are the larger ration where menu #1 is ostrich and cranberry Housil.

Just make sure you know what you're getting. A case of RCIRs will all be the same menu unless the seller specifically says they'll mix them up. RCIRs come 12 to a case, and each case will be the same menu by default (eg. a case of 12 menu 1's). You mentioned 14, which stood out as a potential problem so I wanted to bring that up.

that 180€ sounds abit much for my taste
after my calculations it shouldn´t be more than 100€
