My first introduction to the Ergo drink was Septemeber 99 while going through the USMC Infantry Officer's Course in Quantico, VA. A few of the students were having testing done based on vitals, calorie expenditure, blood levels, etc during one of our field weeks. I remember being on reduced MRE intake and supplementing with Ergo drink instead. I was still hungry, but had energy and wasn't going to crash. If I recall I would drink about 3-4 of these per day. I mixed some up recently and they mixed up, smelled, and dissolved as I remember. I didn't taste it, but sure it was fine. Found these stashed away with some other MRE items from that same era at my parent's house.
