Got sniped at last second

Post by FREMONT »

So I was bidding for this group of accessory packs and MRE components on eBay. I was feeling good and all, not many bids, and I was the highest bidder for the auction when I first noticed it a few days ago. I was bidding and with less than 30 seconds left some guy bid $12 USD on for the listing I bid $12.50 USD with 2 seconds left but to my dismay some other guy bidded $15.50 to secure his holding at the last second! If it was one of you guys I tip my hat of to you. It seemed like a steal if you ask me  .

Here was the product info for the curious!
You will be receiving the following US MRE items:

Six (6) Carbohydrate Electrolyte Beverage Powder Packets, Grape Flavored
Six (6) Beverage Base Powder Packets, Lemon-Lime Flavored
Two (2) Cocoa Beverage Powder Packages
One (1) Chocolate Hazelnut Cocoa Beverage Powder Packages
Two (2) Strawberry Banana Dairyshake Powder Packages
One (1) French Vanilla Cappuccino Instant Powder Package
One (1) Beverage Base Lemonade, Sugar Free Packet
Two (2) Beverage Base Raspberry, Sugar Free Packets
Six (6) Individually wrapped MRE Spoons
Fourteen (14) Assorted MRE Accessory Packs
One (1) Bonus Mystery International MRE Drink Mix
(If you really want to know what country it's from message me and I'll tell you. But that spoils the fun.)

Each accessory pack contains items like toilet paper, Mint or Cinnamon flavored gum, tabasco sauce, coffee, sugar free drink mix, matches, and moist towelettes.

Everything above was produced in 2012 with the exception of the bonus mystery drink mix which was produced in 2015.

The photos above are the exact items you will be receiving.

Feel free to message me any questions you may have before bidding.

Thanks!
I really wanted to know the mystery drink mix :(

Also, what do you guys think a case of Meal, Cold Weather rations should go for? I am keeping my eye on one for sale and all MCWs I see for sale cost around $25 USD plus shipping.

Edit:Seller also had kosher/halal case for same price!

Damn, I'm in the wrong line of work if people value those little accessory items so much!!

For cold weather meals, I personally find them tasty and handy year-round...$25 plus shipping for that sounds about right. When AMWS blows out supplies at the end of each winter session, it seems the cold weather cases sell for just a tad more than MRE cases, $50 give or take, so $25 plus $20 shipping or so per case is right in the ballpark. There's a seller at the WOKO Flea Market who always has them at the last one or two flea markets of the season, and they often show up at yard sales near AMWS.

If you're in the area, the "Church Clutter Barn" in Underhill (VT) tends to have a ton of the loose meals donated; unfortunately I haven't been up there yet this year so I don't know what they have.

It's $25 per MRE not case. The case i'm looking at is $120. I never had an MCW so I don't no if it's a good deal. I'm looking to trade with MCWs in the future if I do get a case of them.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

I think $100-$130 is a pretty good price range for MCWs or LRPs.

I just picked up a case of MCWs on eBay for $120, which I thought was a pretty good deal, especially when you see what they go for individually ($20+ each) on eBay usually. They arrived a few days ago and are in perfect shape. Factory sealed case, good TTIs, and fresh (2014 DoP).

I just go a case of MREs and a Lithuanian dry ration today. Guess i might take a crack at it. But that would be the last purchase for a while unless something catches my eye. Do you know of any other sources that sell MCWs and it's cases besides eBay?
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

That's the one! The vendor also has a couple halal/kosher MRE crates. And I know those can be a tad difficult to obtain.

Be sure to leave a crate for me.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

Unfortunately I don't. eBay is the only place I've seen them, and they kind of come and go. This is the best price I've seen a case at for awhile though. There are FSR cases starting to pop up on there now as well, but the prices are sky-high.

Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit. Looks like I might get it, or not. Who knows?
These MCWs sure are expensive.
