First I would like to thank Steve1989 for you videos. I gave up a long time ago trying to find MRE's then I seen your review for the MCI.
So I read the information here and found an Army surplus store and search for an hour or two and came across this:
There was a Fruit Cake there to but they wanted $20 a pop.
I am still new to the Fort Worth area so I am not sure where the best places are.
I found this over at Omaha's Surplus.

Nice find!! Not too many of those left right there with the key on the bottom.
It's the thrill of the hunt and you just gotta keep searching ebay, Army & Navy stores, craigslist, antique shops/shows, flea markets/swap meets, yard sales, ask old veterans, etc etc.
If there is something out there you want, sometimes it can take years to find but when ya do.. the hunt comes to that exciting conclusion.

Welcome to the forums SPikeDiegel

That's probably from a Ration, Combat, Individual (RCI). They followed the Food Packet, Assault, Individual and preceded the Meal, Combat, Individual (MCI). I've restored contents from two cases so far and I can tell you first hand that very little survives from the RCI other than B Unit cans so that particular pound cake is a pretty amazing surplus store find.
