"Once on field exercises, division arty was getting set to fire around sundown. People were heating their MREs in the exhaust of a 2.5 ton truck. (The usual procedure, drop 'em in , let the truck idle for a minute, gun engine and catch MRE's as it sails through air out of exhaust.) Anyway, one luckless tracktoad had just dropped his in when the Paladin fired. The overpressure pushed his packet beyond the point of return.(or possiblky it just got unluckily stuck)

Luckily, the CO was standing by and laughing his ass off as the luckless private was trying to figure out how to get his "Beef, shredded, in BBQ sauce" out of the deuce, as I have heard this kind of mistake resulted in the unit being banned from heating the meals this way."
