That is a good back country meal. Great job boss The salmon as the main course is a very good choice for afternoon hiking meals. I have used that exact same brand while hiking on Mt Rodgers VA , high quality and good taste, plus it's super high in protein. The peanut butter pouch is another plus hiking for same reason, protein and calories. The rest of the meal looks good. Have you tried vacuum sealed bags for smaller items inside your main pouch.? I use hem for jerky, nuts and other loose items.
Also like your photos look fantastic.

I don't have a vacuum sealer, otherwise I totally would. I've been researching ways to get a vacuum seal-like packaging without the use of an actual vacuum sealer, but it always seems like a lot of work for inconsistent results.

Vacuum sealers show up all the time at garage sales, for just a few bucks.

here is a low priced version that is good for short term vacuum sealing.
I use this myself

If I make many more, I'll look into one of those.

Since most of the stuff that I put into my homemade MREs is reasonably shelf-stable, I just resort to the old suck the air out of the zip-corner of a heavy-duty, one-quart "Freezer" Ziploc.
Works a charm, and it keeps the stuff tight enough that it won't shift around in the bag. I just don't need an industrial grade vacuum quality.
