al the main meals was very tasty and filling.much filling actually.
only the sea food chowder was a bit bland but with the new style pack tabasco it gott spicy and more interesting
the other parts of the mcw we didnt take any pictures of,since we nibled on them the rest of the evening.
we didnt have any bad items in these mcw,they have been stored in controled clima since they was made and issued to the marines.

I have never seen the Menu #6 before. I have tasted all the other ones.
I guess is part of the new menus.
One thing Ken, since they are freeze dried items you will have no problem when it comes to storage.
Just keep them in a nice cool place and they will be fine.

Awesome pics, norge! These remind me of the cases of Mountain House #10 cans stacked up in the state emergency management bunker in Framingham, Massachusetts. My national guard unit did a training exercise there just before y2k, and we saw an entire wall lined with cases of food, including scrambled eggs with bacon and seafood chowder. There was a running joke about how well they'll be eating down there.....until the water runs out! Reminds me of an idea for a Mountain House commercial----- "Mountain House, the number one choice for cold weather rations, AT&T Project Offices, and MEMA bunkers!"

Great pics! Yes, that is one great thing about MRE's fresh from the Military - they are all kept in a climate controlled area (class I) until requisitioned by unit supply, so the ones our troops get in the field are more than likely, less than 30 days out of climate controlled storage. Unless you get a "leftover" box from last field exercise...

Rotation isn't always that great, we have some MRE cases in a shelter that are supposedly for Tsunami preparedness with a pack-date of 2006. Said shelter does have an ECU, but it's only running when the equipment is in use; the TTIs are bad on them. They're obviously not under the control of the supply guys, those guys are pretty relentless about rotating stock. Still, I'd be more than happy to "dispose" of them

Indeed I did, that's awfully young to join the Marines. Unless he got them from a Young Marines or JROTC activity.

The US marines do joint winter training in Norway, so an enterprising (lucky) fellow can scrounge quite a bit.
Once issued, rations can't be turned back in.
Thrown away or...

I believe thats how Norge got started with ration collecting...
