So I was just browsing the latest MRE auctions on Ebay and I run across this guy selling entrees for a decent starting price (12 for $12 - no buy-it-now unfortunately). I clicked on his store link to see what else he had and this is one of the first items I see:

And my first response was, "Screw that!". Oh man...that has a to be the very *last* thing I want in a survival situation...a giant can of freeze-dried cottage cheese!

Maybe some of you like this stuff...I personally don't (could you tell?). But a whole 1lb. can of the stuff freeze-dried? What the heck are you going to do with it all? And what's with the picture of the squirrel on the front? It makes me think it's really freeze-dried Cottage Cheese & Squirrel.

Just when I was thinking, "What could be worse than a big ol' can of freeze-dried cottage cheese?" I ran across this next auction:

Cabbage Flakes?! And they're not even freeze-dried?

But they do contain 17 percent squirrel parts!

Mmmmm....must be for the folks whose diet includes the Saturday night "Road Kill Special".

"Hey Cletus! We're havin' cabbage flakes and squirrel tonight!!"

Come on Kman. Cabbage is OK, boiled, if you got some bacon or sausage grease to season it with! :P

So where's my #10 can of freeze-dried bacon grease? That would be the perfect addition to almost any survival meal!

:D OK, looks like I'll have to take some pics. Hard to get a digital cam. in there, where I work, now. Pez, Gatorade and canned potato chips are OK. i GUESS???

You'd have to damn hungry to consider freeze dried cottage cheese.....be interesting to see what it look like in the can: I'm thinking it looks like that freezedried 'Astronaut' ice cream....but more cheesy. ;)

I think in the mythical "football-team-crashed-in-the-Andes" situation I'd be chowing down on Co-Pilot Rump Steak long before I reached for a can opener
