Prize Package Review

Received my prize from Name_Not_Found's review contest:

As you can see, there were quite a few additional goodies included with the mess cup (including a KitKat from Japan!). I intend to consume and review each piece here. I'm 100% unsure of where any of it came from, so encourage NNF to fill in the gaps. I'll provide what information is on the labels.

I ingested the candy first, because I had already eaten when I got the package. First up was something called Garoto Surreal Amendoim: Chocolate outside, creamy, slightly nutty inside. Delicious! English nutrition information on the package. Origin unknown.

I also ate the Garoto Opereta bonbon brancocon castanha de caju, Cashew white blend bonbon. English, Spanish(?) and arabic(?) writing, too small for this old man's eyes. Hard and crumbly. Tasted and felt like processed cashew that's been heavilly sweetened, which I suppose is what it is. Very pleasing taste.

More to come.

Nice, that didnt take too long to get there.

The first two candies you ate are from South America. (Brazil or Chile i forget which)

You also have Australian(mealx2, drink, spoon, banana candies, chocolate), Italian(crackers, canned item, tiny tooth brush), American (commercial product and caffeine gum), and a fancy kit kat from Japan

Of course the canteen cup stove and carrier are American

More items have been consumed.

KitKat bar:

Its yellow! KitKat in Canada is typical chocolate brown, not lemon flavoured. I'm jealous of the Japanese for this as its really tasty.

Australian Defence Force Chocolate Ration:

White nearly throughout with a brownish core, like all chocolate whose age is questionable. Chalky and hard, but edible.

Armor Chili (not really a ration, but long shelf life packaging is always a good thing):

Mostly beans, couldn't find much meat. It was tasty, though a little salty. Too much sauce, too spicy for my preference. I ended up "cutting" it with some bland store bought chili in a can.

Great update!

The Yellow kit kat is passion fruit flavored

It reminds me of orange julius

Huh. Maybe the yellow colour tricked my taste buds. Then again, I don't think I've ever tasted passion fruit. To the grocery store!

Biscotto Cracker: All smashed up. Sort of like Animal Cracker consistency but not sweet.

Dry and hard; Perfect filler for the BBQ Beef:

Boiled in the bag as with most rations. Very thin, more like soup than stew. Soft, chewy beef. Sweet sauce. I thinkened it up with crumbled cracker, very satisfying.
