last minute christmas present
last minute christmas present
ive been following some of the political masinations of late, and if you are looking for a last minute chistmas present dont look further than an NRA membership,if you own firearms it ll be the best $35 you ll ever spend, seriously guys get behind them 4 million in membership is not enough. The next thing the antis will do is fragment gunowners(gunowners will be starting to do that themselves "i own fine shotguns, not nasty assault rifles, ban the wee black guns")keep it together....

Absolutely right-on sodjer! The NRA has been on the frontline to defend the second amendment for many years, and alot of anti-gun legislation has been dragged kicking and screaming into the public eye by this organization. I have a bad feeling that this time they will be forced to compromise on some things though because I don't see the same fire in them as a few years ago, but we'll see I guess.
Re: last minute christmas present
I imagine they can do like their "colleagues" did in France :
ban full auto,
wait,
ban guns using "military" ammo (.223, 7.62 Nato, 7.92 Mauser, etc.) or they must be chambered to a "civilian" caliber : .222, 300 Savage, 8x68R...
wait,
ban bayonet lugs,
wait,
ban +10 rounds magazines,
wait,
ban +5 rounds magazines,
wait,
ban +3 rounds guns using removable magazines,
wait,
ban semiauto guns,
wait,
ban all "black guns" and military looking guns, including the .22 copies of usm1 or m16...
ASO...
some 20 years ago you could buy a .22lr pistol, a USM1 or an AR15 in nearly any gun or sport shop, now you need a license even for a shotgun or an airgun (if it's considered too powerfull).
Some black gun owners who wanted to keep their rifle legally brought it to the gun shop maybe every year : to rechamber it, to change the magazine, to have a 2 round magasine soldered on, to have the gas pipe suppressed and finaly to have it neutralized. Finaly they have a nice but expensive wall hanger
I've heard that you can boil a living fish without it remarks anything if you start from cold water and you increase the heat very slowly, you see what I mean?

Basically less guns means more safety. All statistics show that. USA is for regular citizens the most dangerous country in the world because guns are easily available for everyone. I happen to live in a country where ordinary citizen (not law enforcement etc.) is very unlikely to get gun permit. As a result Poland is a very safe place to live. Because Christmas is coming I wish you all being as safe, as we are

I agree with you rekrutacja!
In Germany,it is similar to Poland.

Sorry for my english it´s not the best!
Re: last minute christmas present
this is not true,i ve followed this for years.in the uk pistols were banned in 1998, firearm crime spiked in 2007-8with inner city pistol and SMG,yes SMG crime still on a high with murders and gang shooting every other day.swisserland on the other hand on your 18 birthday you do 2 years military service and from that date you keep your SERVICE RIFLE at home with ammo until the age of 57,firearm crime is almost zero.CRIMINALS DONT OBEY LAWS.be it germany or poland.
Re: last minute christmas present
But in Switzerland you are not allowed to carry around your rifle and the ammo you got (20 rounds) are sealed in a container.sodjer wrote:swisserland on the other hand on your 18 birthday you do 2 years military service and from that date you keep your SERVICE RIFLE at home with ammo until the age of 57,firearm crime is almost zero.CRIMINALS DONT OBEY LAWS.be it germany or poland.
Switzerland has the highest suicide rate with firearms ALL OVER Europa.

I in person would like to have easier access to fireamrs like there is in US as criminals don´t care about law´s and regulations anyways. But this is a mentality thing. After WW2, especially the USA edjucated all Germans not to use any firearms anymore so there will never come a threat from "us". Now we are a nation that denies any kind of arms but our woman can show their boobs public without getting arrested

With ammo sealed, and it is a serious crime to break the seal. You never shoot those rifles actually. This makes a difference. Also, Switzerland is a country of very special culture. Basically, people there feel responsible, understandand and obey the laws. Do not underestimate cultural differences. And even taking all that into account, just look at this graph:sodjer wrote: you keep your SERVICE RIFLE at home with ammo

The ONLY country which has high percentage of guns in hands of the people and very low rate of gun related crime is Isreal. Given the special situation of Israel (every single citizen, including woman, undergoes intensive, 2/3 years long military training) it is not that much surprising.
Re: last minute christmas present
Hi, that's always very sad but people who want to do that and use their gun at least don't jump under a train during a rush hour nor they destroy half of the buiding they leave in using a gas bottle ...that happened in my former house with a guy who tried to kill himself almost every 6 months (once the rope broke, he fell on a lower balcony, another time he used poison but was saved by his son who also ate some of the poisoned food and called the emergency service). Even the "anti" were OK to buy him a gun for the next time before he kills all of us (yes, he was still alive!)housil wrote: Switzerland has the highest suicide rate with firearms ALL OVER Europa.![]()
Well maybe if he was nuts enough and had a M16 ans lots of ammo he could have tried to shoot everybody around before himself...

rekrutacja, sure they have sealed cans of 50 rounds ,that doesnt detract from the fact and after service they can buy their personal weapon(after its altered to self loading)ammo and other firearms are freely available.Suicides will happen.it happens to be their way ,in my country its trains viaducts or drugs. But you hit the nail on the head ,the swiss government trust their people.
As to the chart you shown it doesnt break it down enough as make it credible,Eire a country i know well is rated 8th, firearms of any kind are TOTALLY BANNED(you cant even buy a current issue combat jacket)and it 8th. I had a thriving firearms business in 1998,and through no fault of my own(the guy who did dunblane had his fac signed by a politician who supposedly knew his background and backslide out of it) i lost the lot, people kill not guns......http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2003/feb/1 ... s.scotland
