End of the world?

Post by ak70g2 » Thu Dec 20, 2012 6:01 pm

End of the world, anyone? I think our japanese and australian friends are dead, here is now midnite, I'm smoking a pipe and drink a vodka.

A dedication for you, my friends:

I was waiting for someone to start this thread! I spend a good deal of time on SurvivalistBoards.com, and it has it's very own 2012 section because of the number of crazies that kept bringing up December 21st 2012 in other areas of the forum. Some of the people in there research all day and night and because there are so many of them it seems that consensus is down to "the end" occurring at noon over the Mayan temples. That would be 20 hours and 30 minutes from now, or 6pm UTC/GMT on the 21st (Noon Central Time in the US).

So if we're going by the absolute, we still have some time to party before it all falls apart

Yep, we all saw 2012 and got to see Danny Glover be president (eeeeeekkk!) but one thing Hollyweird will never even hint at is very similar to what housil said; it has to do with the calendar, and the way it was explained to me is that the Mayan calendar is divided into phases according to the moon, and on December 21, 2012 (our calendar btw), the new phase begins and the old one ends.

Damn, I'm going to be eating a ham and cheese sandwich at work when the world ends. At least my BOB is in the truck, if I make it to the parking lot.
