1988 to 2006, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce has been in every menu.

I agree with Richard w. While we can talk about our most favorite and least favorite MRE, I think the title of "Best" overall MRE would have to go to Spaghetti with Meat Sauce.

However, don't forget that Beef Stew has been around since the very beginning in 1981. But when you stack up my favorite year of Spaghetti with Meat Sauce (2004) against Beef Stew, Spaghetti wins:

I think Beef Stew has been the longest lived entree, not spaghetti, which I love. What thinkest thou? I like beef stew, as long as it does'nt have big chunks of fat in it.

Yep, DangerousDave - Beef Stew goes all the way back to the original MREs in 1981. Strangely enough, though, I don't see Beef Stew on any of the MCI menus.

the better:
turkey diced with gravy
chiken a la king
ham slice
pork with rice in BBQ sauce
corned beef hash
the worst:
tune with noodles
beef frankfurters
cheese tortellini (I am from Bologna,Italy birthplace of tortellini and those of my mother are quite different

)
I have another problem with MRE: the crackers portion is very small and is difficult use a full portion of peanut butter or cheese spread (very good items) on only a ration of crackers and normally trade my dessert for more.greetings Gianfranco

Spaghetti is the best all-time. Was I answering some other ? above? Worst in my opinion is Vegetables in Alfredo sauce, and who the hell is Alfredo? His is 1 butt I'd like to kick!!!
