#8 Beef Patty 2002 vs. 2004

Post by housil » Fri Jan 06, 2012 2:34 pm

Today is "Holy Three Kings" - a statutory holiday over here.
I invited my family to a dinner - menu #8

As I had a 2002 and 2004 at hand, I thought it´s a nice opportunity to compare them.

The 2004 pouch

is more thick that the 2002. Any idea why the changed the name from "Hamburger Patty" to "Beef Patty Grilled"?

The left 2004 contains the extra

Macaroni & Cheese, Mexican style but a smaller beef patty.

Right out of the pouch

After heating up

due to our daughter the macaroni & cheese had a nice, spicy taste.

I like it the "McRib"-way :-)

2002 is now a 10 years old MRE. The food was still in great shape without any lost in taste. :D

I agree the McRib version is much better looking. :P

I guess the name of MRE menus respectively single constituents change with the different packers. E.g. I have a packet "SHREDDED POTATOES WITH BACON" DoP 2005 by Ameriqual that usually is called "HASH BROWNS WITH BACON". Or another one: "BARBECUE SAUCE WITH BEEF" DoP 2005 by Ameriqual that usually is called "SLOPPY JOE".

What is the difference of weight between both patty sizes?

That is amazing :o ! Perhaps the real weight was due to the size different :?: . I have a lot of those Beef Patties in my basement, have to check whether there are different weights corresponding to the printing on the card board.
