Very interesting to read but one thing the article mentions is just the HOOAH bar and nothing else. I want to know if there are any other MRE's an such that are high in Trans Fat. I can see having some Trans Fat in the FSR's but regular MRE's?

I noticed that some of the pre 2009 dessert items have trans-fat in them. They are not required to put the trans-fat on the label if it is under .5g but you can usually tell if it has the partially hydrogenated oils in it is has trans-fat. Not sure about the newer MRE items I will have to break into a few MRE's and check it out. All and all there should be no reason for Trans-fat now days manufacturers can change that.

Whatever the story turns out to be...there is absolutely no reason that the story isn't easily told or even researched.
There are no secrets needing to be covered up here.
The government and the public should scrutinize all parties applying for these type of contracts right up to the point of denying anybody with no reason given. On the flip side, no company or individual should be given the excuse that a person has retired and that all their career records have been wiped clean...especially when the subject matter is (at first glance) as simple and as straight forward as what we have here.

I had a few older Sterling bakery manufactured Fudge Brownie's and also Oatmeal Cookie Chocolate Covered do contain Trans-fat according to the label. On a side note those Sterling brownies taste better to me than the Pangea Bakery ones!
