Mod: Thread started actually ->here<-
We had luck and din´t got struck this hard by the winter storms, just 4 inches of snow last night
at 13F (-10.5°C)
We love such hikes too...

...but I can´t make my family to have a "snack" somewhere outdoors.
So it´s just me somewhere into a barn I found for some cover

That chili and macaroni was always way too spicy for me, but we had a female in our medic section who was a self proclaimed herbologist and she told us that very spicy food and spicy condiments added to the rations were excellent for the body during cold weather. She even went so far as to keep a box of "cold weather spices" on the ambulance! This is probably true, but my thoughts are "if you can't keep it down, how much good is it?"

I have to agree you.
Do you have any ambulance pic´s you can share? I´m a pro medic and I´m curious
about everything related to it. Especially military

We had up to 9inches (22cm) of snow on Thursday. This pic was taken when it was at about 5inches (12cm) Theres less on the road as the salt melted most before it started to build up. They are clear now though.
We are supposed to be having more snow tomorrow up to 9 inches again, and as the old snow on the sidewalks/pavements has not melted yet... it could get interesting.
BTW the car in the picture is mine, the snow is level with the pavements and it also drifted halfway up my tyres they are 15inch tyres
As I am in walking distance to work, I've been doing a lot of overtime ££££$$$$€€€€

Never ever...

See, I have that:
BMW X3 and my Bundeswehr Iltis.
Both great German made cars. So no need for any others

I'm still here, been having work done in the house (plaster, paint, plumbing ect) which is all on hold, working because of the snow not had much time for the internet
As predicted its snowing again, started at 8am GMT and still snowing now at 1pm GMT Just finished one shift at work i'm back in at 5pm for another one and then again 2 shifts tomorrow.
Right now the only thing on the roads are 4x4's everything from Land Drovers to the little Japanese ones. My Ka stands no chance.
Olli, Winter tyres have never really been used much here. Its not law to have on your car them like in Germany. It would explain why cars just cant handle a cm's of snow here too.

Trust me.. the Wolf / Mercedes G.. well.. isn't that good as it looks.
Atleast, not when it's prostituted to about 500 unmotivated "couldn'tcarelessaboutmilitaryproperty" conscripts before you.
I'd take a BMW over Mercedes anytime.. but I'd go for the X5 instead of the X3...
But for now.. a Polo is good enough. I'm probably going to buy a occasion later this year (the new fiat grande punto, ex lease)
Not really that much of a snow/offroad vehicle.. but good enough for cruising the highway.

Actually I like that old Toyota Hilux. It's like Swiss Army knife for me. You didn't saw Preda's Aro 10 yet, loaded with 9 people and hunking on those forest roads...
