Ken, thanks for that nice review :D :D :D, dark brown MREs are always very interesting ! I still have not eaten that entree, also I have not seen it opened. I have some of those in my collection, but never opened one. I´m surprised and glad that every content you ate was still ok :D, even 18 years after DoP. Were the meatballs one of the better entrees that time?

Best regards mreheater72

yes it was one of the best abck in those days to :D
it have the same bbq sauce as the pork with rice bbq sauce
so those was my realy favs.

but if you try out one of the first meatballs from like 1980s to 86
they are even more spicy and Hot :D

18 years is still young for us  go for the 1960-70s c rations those are old :D

cheers from ken,still alive

I remember those "first run" meatballs (Menu No. 10, part of that MRE was also the awesome CHOCOLATE NUT CAKE), I ate them often as child and I liked them.

That really takes me back. I believe my first experience with MREs were from cases in 1992 - 1993 vintage. I opened a Menu 2 - Corned Beef Hash about 3 years back and it was all in perfect order.

I certainly like the variety of the meals these days, but there is something about these older ones that I always enjoyed. Maybe it was the BBQ like sauce... And the ham slice... yummm
