The perfect mre breakfast

Post by MreKampr »

Well, There isnt one on the menu at this time :(
But there could be one

Natick..pay attention

Take:
1/2 pouch moutain house freeze dried eggs, ham, peppers
1-picante sauce pouch
1/2 pouch cheese
1-toaster pastry
1-wet fruit pack
1-cappucino or coffee,tea,ect

its a shame they do not put freeze dried items in a few menus
i understand the additional weight requirements of more water
but some integration would be a good thing :)

I do see that they are trying to develope a breakfast type hot pockect
sandwich..thats a good thing

Well, there is the Cheese Omelet MRE which was new in 2005. I still haven't tried that one but someone else here in the forums has.

As for the Mountain House food, they do use that stuff but it's in the "Meal, Cold Weather" and "Long Range Patrol" rations. After all, if you have to add water to prepare it, it's not "ready to eat" is it? :-)

Here are the MCW/LRP menus:

Menus 10, 11, and 12 might be what you're looking for.

Hi Kman..sorry bro but i have to dissagree with you on this one
As Far as the ready to eat with no water added
the entrees/sides are as you say ready to eat
but the dairy shakes,elect/carb drinks, coffee, tea, coco bev,ect are not
seems to me like some freeze dried integration would fit in

The first MRE I ever at was the cheese omelet. (About 10 years ago.) It was pretty good, even before I put the tobasco sauce on it.
Meh.

Not Bad

I have had the 2004-5ish cheese omelet and omelet and vegtables. Both were good and had hasbrowns with them. The omelet with veggies was a southwest type omelet. The egg had a very strange texture.

I've tried the Mountain House scrambled eggs that were by there selves and they weren't good. I don't think I'll be having anymore freeze dried scrambled eggs any time soon.

Eggs, the incredible edible EGG

Post by DangerousDave »
