Mre's After the War is over
Mre's After the War is over
DO you think well be able to get mre's after the war in Iraq is over? And if we can I would think they would be expensive.

There is no such thing as a stupid question fdsman, but that is kind of a stupid question...LOL! Just kidding. That is sort of like asking, Well, after the war, will the US still produce ammuntion, tanks, missles, hummers, mortars, etc? Of course they will.
MREs are an essential part of life in the military. It is what they eat while on maneuvers in the field and use to train with to learn how in the heck to eat the darn things in the first place.
To answer your question and don't feel funny fdsman, I was just kidding with you, Yes, the contractors who produce the MREs will still be making them just as they have been before.

"THEY CALL ME DIRTY...DIRTYDAVE"
I agree with what DirtyDave and MREKampr are saying - they're going to be producing MREs long after the Iraq conflict has come and gone. Another conflict will surely take it's place but war or no war, they'll still need rations for the military and for disaster relief.
If anything, I think we'll have a cycle of MRE availablility and prices to look forward to. During December-June, MRE prices will probably be at their lowest and availability will be good. But then as hurricane season approaches, prices will start to rise and people will be fighting for them left and right on Ebay. Then the prices will drop and the cycle will repeat itself.
That's just my prediction - how it's been going for the past couple of years since they started using MREs for disaster relief.
