Mrs. Housil and me were on duty today



I took some MRE´s and civilian Quick Cuisine with me



The MREs came from that 2003 case, the TTI was normal, not darkend



After the chicken w/ noodles main course we had the apple sauce



she had a "suspicious", metal like and sour taste. Also note the almost brown color. We didn´t finished it

So we want to have that taster choice coffee and opend the accessories.



A very strange tabasco smell came out of the bag and the bottle was sticking to the coffee bag

The coffee itself:



was a greasy bulk with a white "fur" on it like on a camenbert cheese = mold
Same at the next coffee from the second MRE we had with us.
Never had a molded coffee before!

As the cheese was normal

I guess not a heat stressed problem.

I guess the liquid from the tabasco bottle soaked that coffee bag and causing the molded coffee. But two times

I have seen that appearance of molded coffee many times before! I guess you are right with your supposition that the reason for that could be the liquid from the tabasco bottle. I have also seen spoiled Taster´s Choice coffee which was out UGRs, packed in pouches with about 25 single wrappers which came not in touch with tabasco bottles, here the coffee "only" has changed its color to black, but it was not molded. That confirms the suspicion.

Everybody knows the applesauce and the cheese go's pretty fast. As for the Tasters Choice coffee, I'm still begging the Gov't of the United States of America, to go back the GI coffee packets, and ditch that nasty Tasters Choice crap.
