TheEpicenter is out of MREs

Post by kman »

Wow...I was just checking theepicenter.com for some MRE parts prices and there's this message up that they're out of stock on almost all their MRE stuff. Wow...the post-Katrina crowd must have really wiped them out.

I checked longlifefood.com and they seem to have plenty, though.

Man does that omelet meal look disgusting...YUCK! Those cheese spreads and desserts are expensive...WOW! $1.40 for a poundcake? You can get an entree for only $2.50. But atleast you can put together your own MREs with exactly what items you want this way.

Shipping and handling is included in the item pricing at longlifefood and they only have a $22 minimum order. I've ordered from them numerous times and they have quick shipping and the food is always fresh.

Hey,
Does anybody know firsthand if you can go to these people and put together an A-packet, almost like putting together your own MRE? Be interesting to find out and how much?

I don't think you can have them put together an actual MRE - like the parts and accessories and bag and all. But you can order up however many entrees and sides and whatnot.

That's what I was trying to price-out when I found out The Epicenter was all out of MRE parts. I wanted to see how much it would cost for an entree, side, bread, and spread. Probably more than I wanted to spend but it would have been fun to find out.

But heck...with Rita bearing down on Texas right now, I think it's going to be a while before we see lots of MRE parts back in stock for affordable prices.

I just checked The Epicenter again and they have a bunch of updates on their MRE page. Check it out - too much stuff to list here:

They are still out. This was my main source for MRE's. Good thing I bought a bunch of entrees about 6 months ago.
