MRE Taco

Post by DangerousDave » Mon Mar 17, 2008 4:42 pm

I have an idea Kman. How about an MRE softshell Taco. We can do the tortillas already. We all know much we love Taco Bell, etc. Main entree would have to be a beef taco filling, not unike current sloppy joe. Add cheese packet, and Voila. MRE Taco. Maybe uncle could even devise a side of tomato/green peppers with sauce to go with it.

That would be pretty cool. You could actually do it with the meatloaf (just mashed it up in the pouch) and add in some taco seasoning and cheese!

Have you tried the meat yet BM? (or for that matter, has anyone tried the beef taco filling?).
Everything tastes better with Tabasco

Nope, I'm just buying em. Don't know when I'll get a chance to open a t-rat... I was going to open a few for the last camping trip, but it got canceled due to weather.. maybe next month some time.

Yeah - I have about 50 of them leftover myself...but they're only from 1999 or 2000 so they should be good for a few more years. :-)

Mine are from 2001, plenty of time left. What can you put on the meatloaf to make it taste not quite so institutional?

I like adding Tony Cachere's (Creole seasoning). It salts it up and gives it a little bite. But I also don't mind the meatloaf as it comes straight out of the pouch.
