Is this typical?

Post by Big Galloot »

I ordered a half dozen Pork Rib entrees from Meyer's Custom Supply. When my order arrived they had shipped 7 but I was only invoiced for the 6 that I ordered.

When I emailed Meyer's about the over shipment, they told me that the Pork Rib entree's were always smaller than most, but that the recent shipment had come in "a little on the light side," so they tossed in an extra.

I don't tend to judge any company by a single experience, but I am impressed.

That's really cool of Meyers. It always rubs me a little bit the wrong way when I see a company selling a Pork Rib or Chicken Breast entree as a regular entree. Those things are only 3-4 oz. vs. the normal 8 oz. In most MREs, when you get one of those light entrees, you usually get something else such as Clam Chowder or more Wheat Snack Bread to round out your meal.

I'd rather see a place sell a Country Captain Chicken entree for $2.50 and a Pork Rib for $1.50. Of course, it's probably really not the seller's fault because I'm sure they're buying those entrees from the manufacturers for the same price as the other entrees. But it still irks me. :-)

But that's cool with Meyers. I ordered a case of Sopakco Sure-Pak civilian MREs from them a while back and after the order went in, they emailed me back to say they had reduced their shipping charge even more since I lived so close to the shipping location.
