This is one of my very favorite rations. The meat and pasta main is like chili mac without the seasoning. The crushed beef is really Tushonka but ground instead of chunked, still good. The minced beef tastes like SPAM and I always prefer to heat it. Yes, the mains and meats can be fatty but I like that, lots of flavor, and sometimes I used the greasy juice to flavor other foods and crackers. The pure meat products really went well with my diet when I was on Keto.
Unfortunately during a visit by USDA they seized all 8 meat items out of my last one so there wasn't much left, CBP took them out of the other one while in transit. I love how Russians put so much meat into their rations. Just yesterday I bought a couple of different cans of Tushonka at a local European market to see if I could get that meat without having to import rations. It's my favorite component out of Russian rations, fatty grease and all. I wish our US rations had something like it. Now I heard a reviewer saying Russians might stop including it. ForeignMRE.com found a steamed beef (and pork) replacement for their molested rations and I am curious to try it. Art says it is not as fatty as Tushonka, probably better for those that prefer it without all the grease. I'm hoping to see some reviews of rations with the steamed meat ForiegnMRE offers. Can't go wrong with a plain old tender chuck of meat, don't know why we can't have the same in our rations. I have high hopes for MRE Nation's Extreme Line that have a lot of meat mains. I miss the old pouches of meat or meat in gravy I used to be able to buy at our grocery stores. The canned beef products we have pale in comparison to how good the tender unprocessed Russian stuff is.
The FSB Mountain and Army Winter rations are my favorite Russian rations cause they pack so much food into them. BTW, USDA also seized the condensed milk out of my last Winter ration. Sigh...

I would love to try one, but I can't afford the shipping with ebay, and it says it's out of stock on Amazon
