Treesuit wrote:What type of camo is pictured? Is that Aussie desert camo i.e some sort of "duck hunter" camo. If it is that's a rare piece of gear and hard to acquire. I've read in another forum that the Aussies have a strict policy that soldiers turn there cammies in for proper disposal and that anybody else who gets caught selling their cammies or trading is violation of their policy and can be subject to criminal penalites.
Not really sure, the photo isn't mine. Just some random one I found on militaryphotos.
I've been thinking about improvements that can be made to this pack, and thought since the side pouches have their own backing, and could easily be removed, I may consider adding in some MOLLE webbing and PLCE/Berghaus zippers to accept those side pouches they utilize, as well as modifying the existing side pouches with either MOLLE or PLCE zippers so they can still be used with the pack.

FDSman,
Interesting, looks like a very early model like you said or a private purchase. Looks like it's in superb condition. Are you going to watch it or bid on it?

Sodjer,
I do not know, that looks much like some CFP-90 ideas were incorporated into the design but looking at the sides and front it looks like it really skinny and doesn't hold a lot. Looks like a civilian model that they slapped some british DPM camo on.
As for the one the FDSman posted early that was on ebay. I purchased that one. In fact, I was the only bidder and got it for steal of a deal. It should be here in a couple of days. I lam ooking forward to eyeballing it and see if it is a early prototype version of the CFP-90. For the early OD versions there isn't a lot out there as far as information. On another forum FDSman posted some querries over there but didn't get very many replies, I did find some photos of the early OD versions but I think the packs were still licensed under LOWE ALPINE but configured for the military.

That looks like an excellent pack, but I'd say it's taken a few modern touches from the ILBE.
It's too bad that these packs go for around 200 bucks here, otherwise I'd sell my CFP-90 in a heart beat for one. That and the fact that most modern non-mil spec packs are made out of an extremely low denier nylon to save on weight.
I've never understood skimping on weight for a pack by making the material more susceptible to being ripped and damaged. Save weight on other things that aren't as critical. Last thing you want on a multiple day hike is your pack ripping.
However, it does look like that pack and other modern Lowe Alpine military oriented packs accept PLCE/Berghaus side pouches, which is a modification I plan to do to the CFP-90.

It´s simple
When writing:

(sorry mine is set to "German language")
or you can use some extern service and just copy/past that link into here. But the pic´s will disappear if that extern service will break down.
