Thanks for asking, OT. We're actually fortunate here in Charlotte and the storm isn't affecting us at all - we're about 4 hours from the coast and since Ophelia is just grazing the coast, the winds aren't reaching all the way over here.
But as slow as she's going, even though the winds aren't as bad as they could be, it looks like flooding is going to be a bad problem out there.

Referring to the EPA:
Germany sent 4 food loads , each about 15 tons. 3 went well, the 4th was rejected by the secretary of agriculture because of the possibility of EPA meat being contaminated with BSE!! Isn´t that ridiculous? Same goes with british and russian rations sent to the USA.

Italy: 300 beds, 300 blankets, 600 sheets, 1 pump, 11.200 chlorine tablets, 6 rafts, 5 first aid kits, 1.000lbs baby formula, 6.000 foodstuffs in 2 airlifts
UK: 7 airlifts of MREs
Germany: 2 airlifts of MREs. A team of 98 flood specialists is currently on its way to New Orleans with 15 high capacity pumps. The team is expected to arrive around 19.00 (Brussels time) tonight.

I am heading back to Waveland Mississippi today. I will try to get more info and pics of all the Katrina relief. Yes, I will get my fill of those tan little bags....we know and love as MRE's.
