Interesting stuff...
Maybe the UK MOD is starting to contract out to other rations producers. If that's the case, I wonder if it's because Westlers can't handle the current load or if the MOD is just trying to expand their production options.

Probably spreading the load over two or more suppliers....just in case.....

Their new 'Hot food kits' contain the Canadian MRE heaters - I guess you might see them in the British issue ration boxes soon.
Treacle Pudding substitute

Any of you Americans want to eat some Treacle Pudding, but don't know what the flip it is, just take an MRE Wheat Snack bread and pour some Mrs. Butterworths, or Log Cabin syrup on it(a lot), and Voila. You have Treacle Pudding! Good sugar rush. MMMMM

Yes but don't forget, the UK treacle pudding is hard as a housebrick.....
