Aquarius, you are right, the toilet paper in the MRE Accessory Packets is really to small to do a great job! But in emercency situations it can help surely a little bit! I think, it were very interesting, to collect information of different toilet paper variations from early c-rats to the current MRE!

Your question about the new German EPAs: I have to admit, altough I´m a German, I have not tastes those yet, because I´m mainly interested in US rations!

Best wishes mreheater72

Do you mean this ones?!

They are called EPa leicht and were issued at 1999.

One box is for 4 soldiers for a whole day. They replaced the "continental breakfast" (caned whole-grain-bread, 2 different marmelades, caned spam, chocolate, extra snack, etc) with two cans of crackers, several powdered "power drinks" (like the dairy shake).
The entrees ( 8 at all) are two diffrent types per box, taste a little bit stale, would need some extra spice (not included).

I agree with mreheater72 that US rations are more desirable than the German versions. MRE's just taste better. But still I would be interested in trying a genuine Bundeswehr Einmannpackung.

Housil, you make me jalous! :D Beautiful stuff you have.
The Epa's Light seem to be a little bit sober on funny items. They contain only the necessarily items. Correct me if I am wrong.

For in my car I prefer MRE's. They are so easy to heat with the MRE Heater. All other rations require to start a fire inside your car or do it outside in order to get a warm meal.
A combination of a MRE entree with a HOOAH bar would also do a great job. (Plus at least one roll of toilet paper...)

no need in the EPa leicht used by the German airborne troops, their moto is something like

Kackt nicht, kämpft

(sorry for any Fallschirmjäger reading the forum I couldn't help writing that)
