Tuna is the only fish on offer....
Given that the US's major field of deployment is currently the Middle East, where even on a cool day the temperatures are pretty doggone warmish, it's possible that the tuna or any other kind of fish just tastes too "fishy". That has certainly been my experience on hot days.

I remembering a Sargent E7 telling us we should always check the chicken and tuna C rat smell (MCI :D circa 1979) before eating. He claimed they went bad in Vietnam He added Chicken & Tuna were the ONLY ones that would spoil. :!: I believed him at the time.
Funny I pack both Tuna, salmon and Chicken pouches for hiking. Yet I still have that deep seated fear of Chicken and Fish Military rations, from that same conversation.
