I am so jealous of the American and Canadian gun laws (except california from what i have read they seem to be pretty bad  )

All i can get in the Uk is bolt action rifle, (no semi's or fully auto's) then the security costs more then the rifle and the licence and ammo,

one day though i am buying a .303 or a 7.62 (ishy)SMLE and will enjoy shooting it, if not get a deac and display it.

Yeah, gotta love stopping by a gunshow and coming home with an ar-15, 3 30 round mags and 1000 rounds of ammo and having there be no government involvement outside of a simple 5 minute background check for the gun. The last gunshow I was at I saw a guy buying a CETME .308, and looking at him made me think that of all the guns here today, that is the one most likely to be used in a crime. Yet he got to walk out the door with it.. a little scary, but that's why I have a gun, better us and them than just them.

Yeah, the american gun laws are even more relaxed than ours! Walking out of a gun show with an AR-15 wouldn't quite work - need a permit just to get it from there to home! (it's a restricted firearm after all) then the only place i can take it is the shooting range anyway (and need another permit for that too) no packing it in the bush allowed! And 30 round mags? i think they hang you for that here  aah well, as Garron points out we're really not that bad off... I just think some of the laws as to which guns are restricted/prohibited are a bit silly, written by lawmakers without enough consultation from gun-knowlegable peolple. </rant>

fully agree with you there,

at least that long gun registry of yours is going away, thats something neh?

and if they hang you for a 30 round ar-15 mag, what would they do to someone with 12 30round ak47 mags?

hmm... ak-47 is prohibited to begin with, 30 round mag is 6 times the max size... i'm figuring you'd be drawn and quartered lol... but it's not that bad - if the liberals were in power you'd be burned at the stake too!

You should have seen the news here in BC: they've got a gun amnesty going on right now and had some pretty interesting stuff turned in. An old mauser automatic machine pistol for one, or how about a shoulder fired rocket launcher? And they say all the gun toting nuts are south of the 49th  ha!
