The 4 man compo packs were a surprise to me in the Gulf in 91. I had a Navy EOD unit close to my Coast Guard base and I was able to acquire 7 boxes of them still sealed and sent them home. My Wife stored them in a closet after she and the kids opened a case and found the candy/chocolate cans. unfortunately I did not know then about proper storage and the Pilchards BLEW their tops later and made an ungodly smelly mess. :shock:

Just curious what kind of thermos that is and where can you find one? looks mighty compact and can you find it on line somewhere? Thanks

hi treesuit,these mugs are very common in the uk military community,i thought they were gimicks,until my son gave me one,now i am a convert .the prices vary but are usually £5-10, the cheapest place i use is here http://www.shoponthefarside.co.uk/thermal-mug.html i normally get 15-20 at a time :wink:

And much loved by me :-) Mine spends time living in my webbing with a hot brew in it, ready to drink whenever I pause.

Once caused a Texan from the ANG some confusion as we brewed up whilst providing fire support for an attack on exercise
