I'm a huge fan of Flecktarn, and all my clothing is Mil-Spec brand. I know is not real Bundeswehr gear, but it works well for me. With dedication for our german friends:

I´m sorry to disagree, but Tropentarn is same 5 color pattern than regular Flecktarn, just a little bit brighter BUT the webbing is different.

Tropentarn (from official Bundeswehr quartermaster store) it´s insect repelling, has a mash under the armpits to increase ventilation and no front zipper.

That´s is Wüstenflecktarn (desert), official term "3 color pattern hot climate"

New...not new...I like it but is difficult to get here.....

Ollie, did you check out the CERT link??? www.citizenscorps.org
We are mostly volunteers and we don't have the type odf equipment as the THW's. In a disaster we are considered the first line of defense until the cavalry arrives.... :D

@ Housil..

Hmm, then was my suspicion right..
I bought some at survival.de and ASMC, where they sell wüsten (desert) as "tropen" tarn.

Tropen is the Dutch (and german?) word for the Tropics.. Tropencamouflage = Jungle camoflage in Dutch.
That's why I already thought they were wrong, but I reconned that if german companies sell wüstentarn as "tropentarn" they were right.. but this proofs otherwise..

English, German and Dutch have the same origin, that's why the sentences are build about the same..
They are all West-Germanic languages.. in contrary to French, Italian, Spanish etc, that are Roman languages.. ;)

Btw, another beautiful pattarn is the Danish camo. It's the same pattern as german Flecktarn, but with the absence of the colour brown.
