Any food that contains any kind of "fat" will spoil faster in heat.

Did you ever notice that most MRE entrees are "low fat", means they have less than 3.3g of fat per 100kcal?

e.g.

4 g Fat -> 290kcal = ~1.3g/100kcal
You see?

To me, they didn“t do it to make the soldier to loose weight :wink:

Why is it that only foreign countries have access to FSRs? I have yet to see one sold locally and frankly I'm a bit disappointed.

Except for the spoiling, proteines etc provide much more "valuable" energy then fat.
Fat are pure calories, true.. but proteines fill you up better (you won't be so hungry) because they take longer to digest.
Also very valuable in the field..
