I spent 10 years and some odd days in the Marines before jumping ship and going over to the Army. Since 1998 I have been in and managed to become an officer. I thought being a platoon sargent was quite a thrill, but nothing beats being a platoon leader. :D Having those soldiers under your care and having to go through all the same stuff they have to.
Man, I now know what LT. Dick Winters was talking about when he was a LT and wrote about his experiences in WWII. Sometimes it can be a real pain in the ass but it's well worth it sometimes. I've been on one combat tour as a LT and I forsee another looming in the not-to-distant future but during the tour is when you find out who you really are and what your made off. After that nothing in life comes close. :wink:
