A rather pitiful attempt by the Bundeswehr to avoid mistakes from the lost world wars to win the next one.

Finally got some previous gen EPA's. Here is side by side pictures. You can see that the new EPA's are much bigger now.

Something tells me that the new EPA's will include items that could not fit into previous generation EPA's.

I hope the Krauts never get rid of that Brotaufstrich Butter. GOLD YUMMY. Why do you think the German Soldiers were issued 'butter cans' in WW2.

They removed the plain butter long ago, you only get the flavored one now. Which are not that great.

I think the reason that they made the box wider is that the old box gotten pretty tight, making the box bulge at the top with all the stuff they put in it.

Yes! It doesn't make sense to put soup in rations when so many military forces no longer issue mess kits or easy ways to cook/heat soup.

Oh Housil. You say you don't like soup? Watch that movie, Kelly's Hero's, when Kelly captured the German Officer behind enemy line, and drove the jeep by the mud-hole and sprayed the German Soldiers with mud, they were eating soup. LOL

I like soup and have one pretty often, but not at outdoors.

Does anyone know how many types of these EPAs exist and what main meals they contain? Can't find a menu overview myself.
