Your research is great, however as I said look at the menus and use common sense.
The MRE packagers package their own stff as far as I know. I also know co-packaging is big business and MREs is not all those guys do
HM is owned by the FRH company
The packaging material has evolved over the years, don't be stuck on dates of inventions, look at where they are used

I know that military contracts and MRE processing is only a small part of the business for Ameriqual, the Wornick division of Veritas, and Unaka. I know that all three produce large volumes of retort food products for the food service industry and in addition to private label production of shelf stable products for the consumer market.
