Ok - hopefully jubifahrer doesn't mind but I replaced his picture links with links to the same pics on the mreinfo servers. Check the first page now - you should be able to see them.

doesn´t matter, kman.

the more i compare with your pics of russion, the more iam sure mine is a real russion ration.

they have very much changes in optic of the ration, but details are the same, like the label, the colour, the division in three parts.

the on i got is from november 2006 and best before 2008.

bye

Wow, jubifahrer - that's really interesting. I thought those big green Russian rations were the older versions but it sounds like yours is current/new. I wonder what the difference between the two rations is? (Besides the contents, of course).

I was going a little googling tonight and ran across a bunch of russian ration information. It's amazing what you can find when you actually search in Russian...I don't know why I didn't try that before. Just google for "Индивидуальный рацион питания" (Individual Food Ration) and you'll find a bunch of stuff.

Here's a pic from a company that appears to sell the older IRP-B style rations as camping rations:

Nice find kman!
Will you try to order one box?

Does the name "sukhoi payok" (dry ration) mean the food is dehydrated ot that it doesn't include vodka?

Course, they mentioned 22 % malnutrition rate using this, and only 10 % with the new one.

Stef, if I were a little closer to Russia, I might try to order one but I can only imagine how much it would cost to buy and ship over to the US. I'm telling you guys...next time I'm in Europe, I'm going to have to stock up on all these hard-to-find/expensive-to-ship rations!
