I'd be willing to bet that it's from 2008 because the iced tea drink has the newer design.

So for everyone out there, I am not familiar with how the manufacturers date their MRE's, etc. ( I might be wrong on the date I posted). I took an educated guess based on when I got them, when they where taken out of circulation from our inventory, etc., and what seemed to make the most sense. I went back and looked at mreheater72's post as well, and from reading it,it seems that is how he "deciphered" the date. I not sure what information he used for reference, as he didn't cite a website, manufacturer's email, etc. Not trying to split hairs on here, I just wanted to put out full disclosure on how I came up with that DOM. Thanks!!!

The date code of MREs is a to all known (over here) basic.
You can read about on the main page over here:

That looks like a 2008..I have one or 2 the same way...the cardboard box was slightly lighter..and the wax coating on it is a bit thinner..maybe that's why the cardboard is also..

Last a long time. The '80's era aluminum cans OK. I have a partial case of 2014 packed. They come in pack of 20 packs. Can get them at around Ft. Pickett, VA.
