But it sounds like the MRE version would taste the same, so no point in advising you to try a T-Rats version if they are even available.
Dear god.... I can't imagine an entire 5 or 10-man container of that stuff. Hahaha
But hey, as the mantra of this site says, "everything tastes good when you're hungry".

Tear up a warm IMP bread (not WSB!) and mix into the gravy. Makes it a passable biscuits & gravy meal.

I actually enjoyed this meal when I had it. True the crackers are not a substitute for a nice warm biscuit but still passable. If a person can get past some of the pates in the European rations surely this can't be all bad.

I never had white gravy myself, it's not very popular up here in Canada. Maybe because it doesn't go well with poutine, who knows
But I Googled a few white gravy recipe's and it sounds pretty good! I would like to try this menu someday if I can find one.

White gravy is pretty easy to make.
Melt some butter, add flour ("roux"), now add some broth and milk - done
You can add some onions, garlic etc.

Which is why they dumped it from the 2015 menus in favour of a bacon-laden hash brown main...

I can understand it being a regional thing. It is a staple in the Midwest US as well, so I've had it since I was a young one. I'm glad you got to at least try it though. Like Elandil and some of the others said, it really needs to be served with biscuits or bread to be fully appreciated as well.
Hmmm, moose gravy sounds interesting!

Yeah I've got family who live in South Carolina who love it.
I'm sure real homemade stuff with some buttery biscuits would be awesome. What I'm getting in an MRE is a poor indicator of what it's supposed to be like. Haha
Yeah moose is a huge staple here, the island has a very big moose population and they've only been here 100 years or so. The last one I hunted ended up giving us almost 500 pounds of meat, and it was all as tender as beef tenderloin... with much less fat too.
And oddly for Newfoundland, I use an M-1 Garand to hunt moose. They're pretty scarce here, especially a Beretta made one, issued to the Danish Army

Nope, still is in original condition, 30-06. An absolute steal when I got it about 12 or 13 years ago, only had to pay $400 for it. Worth a hell of a lot more than that now.
I also own a Johnson 1941 rifle in 30-06. Early serial number issued to the Marine Corps in the Pacific.
