arctic rats

Post by norge » Sat Nov 17, 2007 7:18 am

The uk arctic rations from the 1980 was the type that needed
to be cooked, you had to bring the wanted amont of water to the boil
and add the meal in and simmer to it was soft.
The arctic rations from 1990s to today are freze dry meals
and only need hot water and 5to 10 min and ready to eat.
al the drink mixes only need cold or hot water before
its ready to drink.
the uk arctic ration nawt are showing us are a trail ration
that was used when they cut out the old boil style rations.
the main meal dinner is often made in new zeland or australia.
i have tryed this type of arctic rations in 1995 when training with
the royal marines for 3 weeks and it was real good but afther
1 week we had to use different spices to make a change of tastes.
And the sponge in the ration was a cool item when cleaning the
mess kit
