I'll put a straight up bounty on one of these if anyone has any means of getting one. I love the concept of eating a French ration made from a gigantic Australian flightless bird. Closest we'll come to a dinosaur ration is how I see it.

I might get one RCIR with ostrich or even two. I will ask my contact.

*** UPDATE *** This time only one ostrich ration is available, but my contact said there is a possibility he will get more later (if needed).

If you can only get one, trade with Ruleryak. But please let me know if you get another one. Right now I have enough rations for at least two dozen reviews, so it would be awhile before I could get to it anyway.

BTW French Army uses Bivouac knife for eating. I didn't watched this video I'm linking below because I have used it and never liked it. It's great to have all that in small package and the knife was sharp, really sharp, but fork and spoon are too small for my taste.

I have something very similar to that utensil set. Biggest difference is that it is colored in DCU.

I've had ostrich med rare but will barter for an ostrich MRE anytime!

@Asger, its a bit cold to worry about snakes at the moment. Spiders you can just step on Its the Crocs, sharks, Roo's Cassowary's and Wombats you really need to worry about. Thanks for the info on the bivouac knife. I see what you mean, I guess its a bit like the Australian FRED, not perfect but better than eating with your fingers
@Ruleryak, I do like the idea of an Ostrich based ration and would love to try one,but not to be picking nits mate, but Ostriches are African, Emu's are Australian . I wonder if we can convince the government to try a similar entree for a new CR1M. (They are pests in places. One of my cousins says they are in plague proportions where she works in Western NSW)
