Halal Certified or Halal Type MRE ?

Yes, we supply the halal certified MRES to the US Military (and have for the past 17 plus years). We provide halal certified rations to the US Military. Halal is not as described on this board.
To compare with something many people are familiar with, the Jews have allowed the use of the term, Kosher-style to describe pickles which may or may not be kosher certified. They sued pickle companies to have "Kosher pickles" labels changed to this as a settlement.
The halal-type is likely in this same category and could not be sold to a government agency unless it was also halal certified. Halal type actually means nothing. Even if you leave out pork meals, there is no certification by an independent party that no other disallowed ingredients are used, or even that the equipment could have residue from another non-halal product.
This has become a very sensitive and competitive issue in the US and unless you do it "right" you open yourself up to a lot of problems.

From what I understand Halal isn't like Kosher in that there is no pork and no meat or dairy must be prepared in the same container etc. Although it may share those rules, an Islamic prayer must be said during the slaughtering of the animal, and a tax must be paid to some Islamic association or religious figure for certification.

I just had a friend give me a couple entrees and there were a few halal chicken rice stew in there. Thought that was neat and I should share.
