I'm from Canada, and the IMP I had came with a packet of honey. t made me wonder why. No, Canadians don't eat honey like candy. It seems strange to have this stray packet of honey there.

It's a packet of pure energy !! all sugar. Helps you choke down the "bread".
They did have some IMP's mark,DO NOT EAT HONEY, back in the 90's,had at least one lot with Botulism in it.Easier to add a sticker than remove the honey.
Honey is RAW food, not pasturized,so germs/bacteria/viruses are in there.
Having said that, botulism is very rare! And treatable, though you will feel like Sh*t for quite a while.
It's weird, when I eat IMP bread it's either very good, and tastes just like bread, or it has such a chemical taste that I just toss it.. all of my IMPs are from sealed cases, and it doesn't seem to matter if it's dinner or lunch IMP's, the bread is just hit or miss. That being said, I'm much more fond of the new MRE bread than the IMP bread.. the IMP bread is such a loaf that it's hard to get through unless you dunk it in the IMP Entree sauce.. but the IMP's have plenty of sauce so that's not a bad thing. Mmm.. almost getting back into camping weather so I can start eating them on a regular basis again.
Tonight I finally got round to opening my Canadian IMP salmon, and do you know what?
It was wonderful!!
The salmon was tasty especially when you add the teriyaki sauce, the instant mash with onion was even good.
I recommend this to all of you, there should be more fish MRE'S/IMP'S!
I believe the Americans have a tuna one out this year?
