They seem to be MRE like, with plastic packaging instead of tin foil cans.
One of the entrees is Sauerkraut with Frankfurters.
You can buy them on Ebay:

But they are horrible expensive. Never had on in my hand and don't know, where to get them otherwise. Would like to test them.

Hmm,

These are not "techically" an EPA. They are an Emergency Ration of some type. They don't even appear to have a proper NATO NSN#. They look like some multi-national effort, as they are written in English, German & French - so they're not a dedicated German Forces item. I haven't managed to get exact info as of yet on them, however.

Karsten, the price as you mentioned is crazy!

BTW, three of the new Survival Ration menus are:

Turkey Medallions
Meatballs & Rice
Sauerkraut & Frankfurters

The folllowing items are also included in these rations:

Food items:
sandwich spreads, bread, coffee, salt, candies, sugar.

Non-food items:
soap, candle, matches, water purification tablets, toilet tissue.

This is by no means a definitive list however as I am not working with a full detailed listing.

They do look neat. Karsten, the price as you mentioned is crazy!
I have heard from this before. This company is called "Trail Pack" who assembled and sells MRE/EPA like daypacks for hiking/camping trekking.
Not NATO approved, BTW

http://www.trail-pack.de/ (Go to "Online - shop" for details)

....and have a look at this wannabe combat ration:

I have seen those sold on eBay as "austrian combat ration" :? :? :?

Zeiti, thank you for the additional information - always great to have.

It just goes to show, you have to watch out for the "hype" on eBay.

Alter Mann, they may use some surplus MRE component and use them in their rations packages, the way some US sites do.

Now there is a posting on www.ebay.de which makes clear the "New German Rations for Elite Units" and the "Austrian Army Special Rations" are completely FAKE!
"udo1955" has bought some of these rations and he discovered that not only the rations are FAKE, but the sellers are also suspicious (different seller's names, but they have 2 separate bank accounts at the same bank under the same names). Seller's names are: padjelanta438 and the_waldmeister.
So, please beware!

Thank you!

Thank you very much for posting definitive info on these rations!

I was suspicious from the beginning about these, and it's nice to have confirmation that these are faked.

I noticed that there are more of these for sale again - apparently they're trying to rip off as many people as possible before the scam folds up.

It's pretty sad that people are making up "Elite Forces New Generation EPAs" in order to rip people off, using parts of MREs, EPAs and miscellaneous camping rations.

Luckily we were as a group skeptical and the fake NSN# - is what caused us all to question the validity of these items.

Personally I'd like to thank everyone else who gave feedback on these as well!
